The Great Transference and the Arrival of Art

I have been saying this since I first learned it, probably about thirty-five years ago around 1990: If one doesn't deal with one's own emotional / psychological / spiritual baggage produced in one's family of origin or by adapting to and living with this shame-based, winner-take-all bourgeois culture, one will transfer that baggage into whatever reform / revolutionary movement (or anything else) in which one creates or participates. The true arrival of Art is when one can get past this toxicity and one's own reaction to it.
